[One Life]

[One Life]
It is a must of me,
required to live fulfilled,

when remembered—wholly chosen.
I have ONE chance, I am given one opportunity to be this person.
In this fast-evolving universe,
in this world that seems to only get faster,
I must remember when I can to relish,
to relish the fact that,
I am only this person once.
Who am I?
Who will I become?
Who will I love?
What will I do?

One, only one. One time,

a single time I get to be me,

what will I do with this opportunity?
My only chance—my first and only attempt.
I choose to remember this,
I choose to live every day as if it were my last,

because it very well may be.
If I cower from this fact,
if I run from this truth— I run from this life.
I want to run with it.
We are but dying stars, blessed with consciousness.
I choose to be aware of my own slow burn, I must radiate my bright and fleeting light while I can—while I am living this first and last chance.
My one life, I will do what I was given life to do— I will shine for you, one life!
